 Wall Street - New York - USA: The name of the street derives from the fact that during the 17th century, Wall Street formed the northern boundary of the New Amsterdam settlement. The wall was created, and strengthened over time, as a defense against attack from various Native American tribes, New England colonists, and the British.
Wall Street - Nueva York - USA: El nombre de la calle deriva del hecho de que durante el siglo XVII, constituyó el límite norte de Nueva Ámsterdam. Allí, los colonos holandeses construyeron en 1652 una pared de madera y lodo. La pared significaba una defensa contra el posible ataque de los indios Lenape, colonizadores de New England y los británicos, pero en realidad fue usada para evitar que los esclavos negros de la colonia escaparan.
