The Sultan al Muayyad Complex-Cairo-Egypt: The hypostyle plan of the congregational mosque is similar to that of the khanqah (Sufi shrine) of Faraj Ibn Barquq. This is a late example in Cairo of the open courtyard plan on a large scale, and the last such hypostyle mosque to be built in Cairo. There is an ablution fountain in the middle of the courtyard.
